HEATTECH Extra Warm Cashmere Blend combines HEATTECH technology with cashmere to create a thin, lightweight material with a warm, soft feel. The resulting material absorbs and retains heat, while the cashmere blend gives a softer and smoother texture.
HEATTECH Extra Warm Cashmere Blend is approximately 1.5 times warmer than regular HEATTECH.*
*Warmth is calculated based on clo value, which represents the thermal resistance of clothing (compared with regular HEATTECH Jersey).
Did you know?
In our pursuit of the "thin, light and warm" ideal, customer research identified a preference for an even softer touch with a natural-fibre feel. This led to the development of HEATTECH Extra Warm Cashmere Blend.
Cashmere helps give the fabric a soft, airy feel. Its crimped fibre structure also helps create air pockets that retain warmth.
The Cashmere Blend combines synthetic and natural fibres to balance warmth, softness, lightness and stretch.
The material is also highly stretchable, helping it move comfortably with the body.
Over 200 prototypes
It took around four years and more than 200 prototypes to develop HEATTECH Extra Warm Cashmere Blend.
Because cashmere is delicate, particular care is taken throughout production, including slower knitting speeds and specialised dyeing.
The amount of cashmere differs depending on the product:
• Inner tops contain 9% cashmere, selected to provide a soft and airy texture while maintaining warmth.
• Leggings and tights contain 6% cashmere, balancing a smooth feel with the strength and thickness needed for these items.
The different blend ratios are intentional and designed around the requirements of each type of garment.
Why 9% or 6% cashmere instead of simply adding more?
The amount of cashmere is carefully balanced for each product. Too little cashmere can affect softness and warmth, while too much may make the fabric less stable and more likely to shrink, fuzz or fray.
That is why inner tops use 9% cashmere for softness and warmth, while leggings and tights use 6% to balance comfort, strength and thickness.
The recommended temperature range is -5°C to 15°C when worn together with other clothing.
This is a general guideline only. How warm you feel may vary depending on the weather, what you wear with it and your individual sensitivity to temperature.
